Oak Volume 01
Oak The Nordic Journal is a biannual magazine with an international reach that covers Nordic culture, food, and design and the people behind. Each volume contains a varied mix of travel writing, photographic features, illustrated food stories, interviews, and articles on culture and trends within the Nordic region. The long reads and range of content in Oak The Nordic Journal are a response to a need to slow down, take time, to turn pages, and perhaps most meaningfully, to gain a fuller picture of the Nordic way of life.
In the first issue, Oak will introduce you to Danish singer Oh Land in an interview about her sweetest Danish summer memories. You will visit the Faroe Island’s world-renowned knitting brand Guðrun & Guðrun that was catapulted into fame by detective Sarah Lund in the Danish tv-show The Killing. You will spend 24 hours with the Danish chef Kille Enna on her farm outside of Ystad. And you will meet Denmark’s power couple of art Tal R and Evren Tekinoktay who tell their beautiful lovestory.
